Paris Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
When I started to think I would become a freelance myself, I knew there was a long long way to go. I had much to learn, to discover.
I lived in Paris at that time, the Startup ecosystem was booming.
The Family, Schoolab, Ux-Republic, École 42, Hackerhouse Paris, Numa and so many others organized workshops and meetups very often.
Meetups are very good occasions to meet a lot of like-minded individuals, passionate people ; you can easily discover new trends, topics an learn.
It is great to keep informed too.
I tried to attend many global Conferences.
I went to Hello Tomorrow 2017 in Paris – It is a “global non-profit on a mission to unlock the potential of deep technologies to solve the world’s toughest challenges, by highlighting, empowering and connecting the most promising deeptech entrepreneurs across the globe with the right enablers.” as said on their website.
I attended AWSome Day and Oracle Cloud Day which are dedicated to cloud technologies.

WordCamp Europe took place in Paris and I couldn’t miss this event. WordCamps occur all around the world.
It it the place-to-be for all WordPress aficionados with :
- The contributor day
- The sponsor workshops
- The tribe meetups and speed networking
I would definitely recommend to every WordPress enthusiast to attend a WordCamp – it is a life-changing experience.
You can create opportunities for sharing, collaborations. Networking is extremely important for all freelancers
– It is all about encounters in Life –
And I made great ones that convinced myself I was going in the right direction.
I could meet Charlotte Appietto when she was launching her website Pose ta Dem’ and she wrote a cool article about myself !
Charlotte is the founder of Pose ta Dem’ and a Freelance Trainer. We first met at the Freelance Day in Paris where we were both volunteers.
She does a lot with freelancers and helps people a lot.
I met Keenya Hofmaier , she is a sustainability professional and diversity champion.
When we met she was into her 30-Day Connect challenge : “A guide to expanding your network and unlocking your potential by the end of the month”
Keenya created Paris Black Social Network Meetup Group when she arrived in Paris. I joined this group and she could see on my profile that I was interested in the sustainability issues and web development
Actually into her 30-Day Connect journey I was the first person that she met offline after initially meeting on a social networking platform. And then she wrote a “chapter” about this encounter !
I joined Happy Dev last year – We are a collective of self-employed, mostly developers but not only.
We share a vision of work, we seek happiness and accomplishment in our activities and good relationships with our clients.
You can see the main Website there – we are a growing and Happy Dev is becoming more a distributed organisation.
